ABOUT ME
Jania Sanders is an award-winning filmmaker, writer, director, and editor from NYC. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Sarah Lawrence College, holding a B.A. degree in Filmmaking and Moving Image Arts.
During her early entertainment career, she interned at several television companies. She produced BronxNet talk show interviews as a Producer Intern/Production Assistant. Months later, she pitched, produced, and edited content for NBCUniversal on Bravo TV’s The Real Housewives Franchise, Project Runway, Crappie Lake, Martha’s Vineyard Summer House, Below Deck, and Universal Kids’ shows Remy &Boo and Floogals.
She worked as a CBS Page providing temporary stand-in streaming, production, and audience management services for “The Drew Barrymore Show” (CBS), “Last Week Tonight Starring John Oliver” (HBO, MAX) “Have I Got News For You” (CNN), “CBS Morning News”, and “CBS NEWS: America Decides ‘24”. Shortly after, she interned at “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” (CBS Studios), assisting with the Script, Talent, Research, and Production departments and having her news story pitches air on late-night television.
Recently, her short film, Always In My Head, was officially selected for six film festivals and won 5 awards, including “Best Editing”, “Best Mini-Film”, “Best Actress”, and more. Jania works on other projects such as indie short films, comedy sketches, and spec ads. Outside of writing, directing, and editing, she wears hats as an assistant director, production assistant, and videographer.
Sanders’ work authentically depicts the Black experience and Christian walk. She aims to negate stereotypes about underrepresented communities as she boldly professes her faith through cinema.
